HTC Sensation vs HTC Desire HD

When it comes to the smartphones, HTC is a force to be reckoned with. The Taiwanese manufacturer has come out with some excellent phones in the past and it continues to do so. After the success of HTC Desire and its big brother HTC Desire HD, the company has introduced its latest smartphone in the market, the HTC Sensation. In this post, I've tried to bring these two smartphones, the latest HTC Sensation and the already established and hugely successful HTC Desire HD, face to face.

Though there is not any major difference between the two handsets in terms of proportions, but HTC Sensation is slightly thinner and light in weight.
In we talk of display, HTC Sensation comes with an upgrade. It has an S-LCD capacitive touchscreen at 540x960 which is superior to the LCD capacitive touchscreen, used by Desire HD. HTC Sensation also has an updated HTC Sense 2.0 user interface. Unlike Desire HD, that comes with single core technolgy, HTC Sensation uses dual core technology and a superior processor.

Though both are Android powered phones, but HTC Sensation with its latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) scores over HTC Desire HD that uses comparatively older Android 2.2 Froyo.

As far as the camera is concerned, both have the same 8 mega pixel camera. HTC Sensation, however, have some extra camera features such as touch focus, instant capture and dual LED flash.

No doubt, HTC Sensation is an improved handset compared to any of the previous ones from HTC. It does well on all counts. But at the same time it is coming with a higher price tag compared to Desire HD or any other HTC phone. Further, HTC Sensation faces direct competition from Samsung Galaxy S2, the latest phone from Samsung that has taken the market by storm!!
